If you want to install a mod, simply unzip it into the Mods folder. Go to Manage Installation > Show Folder and then open the game folder.
Finally, go to Browse Local Files… and open the game folder. Click on Stardew Valley (it has to be right-click). 
Enter the following command in the SMAPI console (it will be the second window that opens together with the game):.
